History & origins
The Purebred Arabian is considered the oldest saddle-horse breed in the world. Selected for centuries by the Bedouins of the Arabian Peninsula for its endurance, soundness and closeness to humans, it lived under the family tent and was passed on as an inheritance.
Present in Morocco for generations, it is bred there for beauty shows, endurance and the improvement of other breeds. The El Jadida Horse Fair dedicates a conformation and gaits championship to the Purebred Arabian every year, attracting breeders from across the kingdom and abroad.
Its genealogy is tracked worldwide by WAHO (World Arabian Horse Organization), which guarantees the purity of bloodlines through national stud-books. In Morocco, the Purebred Arabian stud-book is managed by SOREC.

Purebred Arabian bloodlines are documented by national stud-books recognised by WAHO, including the Moroccan stud-book managed by SOREC.
